Creating Your Legacy – Part II

Okay, lets start this blog post with a quote from the famous Warren Buffet’s simply because I love Warren Buffet and I am inspired by him. Buffet’s net worth as of 2017, is estimated at $80bn. I don’t think he arrived there by mere luck. I would like to believe he knows a thing or two about success and failure. Buffet said that he would not invest in any business where the owner hasn’t failed at least twice. I wonder why. It’s interesting to find that wealthy people look at failure from a totally different perspective. You cannot let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing your dreams, attaining success and creating your legacy.

Most people do not even attempt the journey of success because they are paralyzed by their fears. The fear of failing at a business venture, the fear of rejection, the fear of non-conformity. Far too many of us let our age, race sex or economic background hold us down from dreaming big and launching out into the deep.  How often do we allow the impressions of others affect our direction, our altitude or our ability? How often have we stopped our own progress, stunted  our growth and impeded our leap because of the opinions of others and limitations they have set for us? Perhaps another obstacle in attaining success or greatness is our own apathy. We generally do what we want to when we want to and most of us do not want to leave our comfort zone. Pushing beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone may take some practice, but the rewards are well worth it – for both personal and professional development.

What is stopping you from getting out of the shallows and launching out into the deep? You cannot allow yourself to be held down by what your parents did or did not do, what your friends think, what your colleagues think or the limitations in your immediate environment.

Far too often, when we face a temporary road block which can often be misinterpreted as failure, we let that experience paralyze us from trying again. The failure could stem from a lack of financial planning, a lack of resources or the lack of the right team members. Whatever the case may be, you have to realize that stumbling blocks are part of the process when you are on the road to success.

So in moving toward your dreams and your goals, it is necessary to let the stumbling blocks and giants inspire you rather than deter you. You were born to take huge, vertical leaps. You were created for greatness. Take the limitations off, step out of your comfort zone, expand your vision, conquer those fears, challenge the status quo and see yourself soar to greater heights.

Peace & Light.
